White Rose One Acts

White Rose Theatrics presents an entertaining evening of classic one-act plays, in the time-honored tradition of America’s Little Theater movement of the early twentieth century. Three short plays will be performed, with a common theme of “the war within and between the sexes,” from 1888 to 1934. The plays: “The Bear” by Anton Chekhov, “The Reckoning” by Percival Wilde, and “Roman Fever’ by Edith Wharton.

BEING SOMEBODY is a unique and inspiring new show starring an extraordinary 89-year-old Jewish psychologist/executive coach (vibrant and still working) alongside his talented recording artist/writer/performer daughter. Together, through storytelling, music, and movement, they take the audience on a nostalgic journey back in time to growing up in Brooklyn in the 1940s, 50s, and 1970s, evoking laughter, tears, and heartfelt memories of those moments that matter most and make us who we are. It is a real-life father/daughter tale of love, family, and hope with universal themes that speak to us all. Audiences of every age love this show as it reminds us of our lives growing up and those values we still hold near and dear.

Law and Order: Special Improv Unit

Duh-DUN! America's longest running procedural as you've never seen it before: IMPROVISED! Michael Harris and the hilarious actors of MidAtlantic Improv return with Law & Order SIU. It’s a full episode of the original Law & Order, fully improvised. Rather than headlines, this show is ripped from the suggestions of the audience creating a never seen before, never to be seen again comedic murder investigation. Every aspect of the Law & Order formula is used from the discovery of the victim (played by a volunteer) to a tough but fair lieutenant to attorneys playing on the ethical edge to a final verdict decided by the audience.
Core Memory / Array

“Core Memory” is the multimedia project of brothers McKinley and Harrison Foster. Through the synthesis of electronic music and live, acoustic instruments, McKinley creates introspective music characterized as “cinematic lofi,” while Harrison creates audio-responsive visuals for live performance. They released their first full-length album, “Align,” in 2021 as a concept album about what keeps us grounded. Utilizing spoken word and a variety of guitar, synth and lofi elements, the album paints a picture about finding balance and going from drowning to floating. "Array" is their latest release, often featuring strings and acoustic instruments to find a human connection between the electronic elements on the EP. With artwork taken from a drawing of the brothers’ childhood home, "Array" explores themes of nostalgia, growing up, and the experiences that shape an individual.

Based on this reading, the Brooklyn-based improv team Lewis will do a performance based on the reading to help flesh out the audience member's potential future. Can YOU tell which comedian is telling a lie? Get your internal lie detector tuned and ready for the laugh-out-loud fun that is “Would I Lie To You?”, based on the popular BBC game show. Two teams of comedians face off in a tournament of truth and lies. One contestant tells a short story. It is up to the other contestants, and the audience, to determine if it is completely true or totally false. Get ready for an evening of quick-witted humor, tall-tales, and playful banter.

Fat Freddy’s Fried Chicken Funeral is a look at a black funeral, the multicultural, LGBTQ+ community who comes to grieve, and the man who has way too many ex-wives, too many stepkids, and too many people who want his money, fortune, and, most importantly, the recipe to his delicious fried chicken. This is an interactive show for the whole family but geared towards the adults in the audience.
